5 Common Questions About Hallmark Youthcare Inpatient Mental Health Treatment

April 10, 2024

Know what to expect and feel confident about your treatment

When receiving inpatient adolescent behavioral healthcare, it’s natural to wonder about the process and how it will ultimately impact your well-being and daily life. Let’s explore five common questions so you can set the right expectations.

What are the benefits of inpatient vs. outpatient therapy?

Residential treatment creates an immersive experience, one that provides uninterrupted care within a safe, structured environment. It also removes triggering influences that are fueling substance use or behavior disorders, allowing you to tune out distractions and regain control of your decisions.

What's it like in an adolescent psychiatric residential treatment facility?

We follow a structured routine to give you some predictability each day. A typical day consists of individual and group therapies, workshops like anger management and skill building, restorative activities like yoga and music, and education at our on-site campus.

      Can I see my family?

Yes! We strongly believe in the importance of family and community involvement and encourage visitation, family therapy, and attendance at social events. When residents are ready, we also arrange off-site visits so you can reconnect and prepare to transition into daily life outside of our facility.

        How long does treatment last?

We create custom care plans for each resident, with the average treatment lasting six months.

Can I continue going to school?

Yes! We offer on-site education via the McAfee Academy. We’ve made several recent improvements to our education program, including new classroom arrangements, new Chrome books, and teaching tools.

Schedule a visit and let us show you around!
